I am pleased to inform you that the video listed below has been selected for presentation at the 2006 Joint Meeting of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology (APAO) in Las Vegas, Nevada, November 11-14. Title Using Tissue Glue for Closing Site Ports in Vitreoretinal Surgery Your video will be shown at least three times during the meeting. A complete schedule will appear in the Final Program and on the Academy’s Web site. In order to allow Joint Meeting attendees more time to view the videos, the Video Theater in Venetian, Veronese, Room 2506 will open at 9:00 AM, Saturday, and 7:30 AM, Sunday through Tuesday. Videos will also be available on demand through touch screen monitor stations located in Sands, Upper Lobby, and Sands, Hall G. VIDEO FORMAT Videos will be presented in the same format they were submitted (DVD or MPEG). COPYRIGHT PERMISSION Please ensure that you have permission to use any image presented as part of the video. This includes a license for copyrighted material and release forms from any patient(s) recognizable in the video. Use of copyrighted music or materials is forbidden without written authorization. Submitting your videotape without written authorization represents that you have or do not need such authorization and you agree to indemnify and defend the Academy from all claims based on copyright infringement. ADDITIONAL VIDEO USE In recognition that many of the videos chosen to be presented at the 2006 Joint Meeting represent some of the best ophthalmic training videos, the Academy may present these videos in other formats. As an example, you may receive a request from the Academy’s Clinical Education or Marketing Divisions to use your video to highlight the wide range of presentations at the meeting. REGISTRATION/HOUSING Although video program participants are not required to attend the Annual Meeting, those who plan to attend should register in advance. The last day to register and receive badge and materials in the mail is September 13. You may register online at www.aao.org. If you have not already secured housing for the Annual Meeting, you are strongly urged to do so. You may make housing reservations online at www.aao.org, or by calling the AAO Housing Office at 866.774.0487 (from outside the U.S. call 703.770.3908). “BEST OF SHOW” AWARDS CEREMONY “Best of Show” will be awarded to selected videos based on educational value, technical quality, and general interest to members. Award recipients will be notified in August and will appear in the Final Program. Awards will be presented at a ceremony on Monday, November 13, at 12:15 PM, in the Video Theater, Venetian, Veronese, Room 2506, followed by a special screening of the “Best of Show” videos.
